The Road to Rebirth Her Fresh Start and His Late Sorrow

Chapter 247

Cyrus didn't pay any attention to Ramona; his eyes were fixed on Nancy, who was being shielded protectively by Ramona.

Nancy's cheeks were flushed, her eyes slightly glazed, and even the tip of her nose was red. Cyrus took one look and understood immediately-Nancy was drunk.

"Nancy, you're drunk. Let me take you home," Cyrus said, reaching out to her.

Without a moment's hesitation, Nancy took two steps back.

Cyrus furrowed his brow and reached out to her again.

Smack!

Ramona's hand came down sharply on Cyrus's wrist, gripping it tightly. She gave

a wry smile, but despite the smile, a fierce energy radiated from her.

"Mr. Gordon, don't you understand plain English? Harassing my friend right in front of me is not cool."

Cyrus's eyes darkened as he glared at Ramona. "Let go."

"And if I don't?" Ramona lifted her chin defiantly, clearly unbothered by Cyrus's anger.

Cyrus's patience was reserved for Nancy, not Ramona. His anger flared, and he yanked his hand away from Ramona. "If you keep blocking me, don't blame me for getting rough."

Ramona raised an eyebrow, unfazed. "Oh, really? Go ahead and try."

Did Cyrus really think he was in charge here?

Cyrus's frown deepened, and just as he was about to step forward, Nancy grabbed Ramona's shoulder and pulled her back.

In an instant, Nancy was standing in front of Ramona, her hand swinging up to slap Cyrus across the face.

Smack!

Cyrus was momentarily stunned, not expecting Nancy to hit him. Even Ramona looked surprised. "Lena?"

"Cyrus, I don't care about the past, but Ramona is my friend. If you threaten her again, don't expect me to be nice!" Nancy said, her face expressionless, her gaze cold and filled with an indescribable disdain.

BUMS

Cyrus was taken aback, staring at Nancy's contemptuous expression. A wave of anger rose within him.

"Nancy, didn't you hear what Ramona just said? Or do you actually think Ramona is more important than me?!"

What a joke. He couldn't believe it. Nancy must be using Ramona to provoke him.

"Why would I compare you two?

Nancy looked at him netnoveldrama

There's no comparison. You're

ancient history, and I don't keep exes who drag me down."

If Ramona hadn't intervened, Nancy would still be dealing with the fallout of a trending scandal. What

importance?

The more Nancy thought about it, the angrier she got. She grabbed Ramona's hand. "Let's go."

Ramona saw the determination on Nancy's face and glanced at the dazed Cyrus, a smile playing at her lips. "Alright."

Cyrus was left standing there, Nancy's words echoing in his mind. There was no warmth in her expression.

Especially her last remark-"I don't keep exes who drag me down." What did Nancy mean by that?

He just wanted to keep Nancy from leaving. Why didn't she get that?

As Nancy began to walk away, Cyrus seemed to realize something and rushed after her without hesitation.

"Nancy, don't go. There's a misunderstanding. I can explain—"

Nancy's shoulder was grabbed again, and she turned, her face a mask of disdain. The word "leave" was on the tip of her tongue.

But before she could speak, the sound of a car engine rumbled to life.
