The Road to Rebirth Her Fresh Start and His Late Sorrow

Chapter 244

It was all Nancy's fault...

Gaye's eyes held something unreadable for a moment before she finally spoke with a detached calm, "Eugene, if you need to apologize, it's not to me. I wasn't the one she insulted."

"You're right," Eugene quickly agreed, turning his attention to Nancy. "Miss Lena, Sarah tends to speak without thinking. Please don't take her words to heart..."

As he was about to say more, Eugene caught a clear look at Nancy and his voice trailed off, leaving only awe and greed in his eyes. She was breathtaking; he had never seen anyone so beautiful.

Nancy frowned at his blatant stare.

Without a second thought, Ramona stepped in front of Nancy, her smile not reaching her eyes as she looked at Eugene. "No need for apologies. We don't care to hear them. It's just surprising that Sarah ended up as your fiancée."

"How did you convince the Hernandez family?" she asked, her tone dripping with

sarcasm.

Sarah's face flushed with anger, especially with Nancy watching.

Eugene shrugged it off, "I just mentioned it to Mr. Hernandez, and he agreed to let me be with his daughter. Honestly, I wasn't even keen on getting engaged to Sarah. Her photos... well, never mind."noveldrama

Sarah clenched her fists, struggling to hold back her emotions, but she couldn't stop herself from glaring at Nancy. "Are you happy now?"

Nancy remained calm, "Happy about what?"

Eugene scolded impatiently, "Sarah, is that how you speak to Miss Lena?"

Mentioning this only made Sarah lose all reason. "Shut up! Do you really think I want to be engaged to you?"

"What do you mean by that? I've invested in the Hernandez family!"

"If you want to invest, do it. If you don't, then don't," Sarah snapped, seething with anger.

But before she could say more,

Eugene slapped her hard across the face, "Who do you think you are? Say one more word, and see what happens! Apologize to Miss Lena, or dont blame me for being ruthless."

Sarah's fists tightened, and she turned sharply to Nancy. "Apologize to you? Over my dead body."

With that, she shoved past Eugene and stormed out.

If it weren't for Lena striking back, Michael wouldn't have gone after The Grey Group so viciously.

Her father wouldn't have sold her off

to someone like Eugene-a man

over fifty, with children older than her, married a dozen times, and with a harem of women on the side Not to mention, he was utterly twisted.

Being with someone like that even for a day made her skin crawl, let alone being

forced by Eugene...

It was all Nancy's fault.

Watching Sarah run off, Eugene

didn't seem to care, turning

apologetically to Nancy. "She'sel

spoiled, don't mind her."

Nancy's expression was indifferent, "Why should I mind? What does this have to do with me?"

Eugene was taken aback by Nancy's bluntness, his pride visibly wounded.

Before he could respond, a loud crash interrupted them.

A wine glass shattered at his feet, splitting into pieces.

Eugene's hair stood on end, and even Nancy and Ramona narrowed their eyes slightly.

Eugene looked up angrily, "Who did that? Are you asking for trouble?"

From the second floor, Michael grinned mischievously, "Oops, I did that on purpose."
