Chapter 616
Judson stood up. "I'm going to have a word with the new boss about what's happened before. Are you up for it?"
Tevin scrunched up his face. "The new boss can't afford to offend them. Even private factories have to watch out.
"If they tick off the electricity company, they'll be getting power cuts left and right. Piss off the health department, and they'll be dealing with inspections every day.
"Get on the bad side of the water company, and they'll be losing water every few days. And if they annoy the local officials, things will become harder for them. In the end, it's us who'll suffer. Let's not stir the pot."
A hint of resolve flickered in Judson's eyes. "Since I've already pissed off the boss, I'll likely be among the first batch to get laid off. I'm ready to risk it all."
The gate of the pharmaceutical factory opened up, and a car drove in. Spotting the car, Judson immediately walked over.
Matthew was searching for a parking spot when he saw someone walking toward him, so he quickly hit the brakes.
Stepping out of the car, Matthew noticed Judson was in a work uniform, so he asked, "What's up? You must have a reason to stop us."
Judson nodded. "I have an urgent matter."
Matthew walked up to him. "You can talk to me if you need to."
Judson shook his head. "I'm not going to talk about it with a chauffeur. I want to speak with the new boss."
Matthew got shot down, but Judson had a point. He was just a chauffeur, while Tracy was the one representing Wealthwave Group. So, he'd only step in when Tracy couldn't handle it.
Matthew replied with a grin, "Hold on a second. I'll bring the new boss over."
Sitting in the car, Tracy vaguely heard their conversation. She got out and walked over to Judson. "Do you need something from me?"
Judson gave Tracy a once over. She looked gorgeous, had an amazing figure, and her outfit looked pricey. He had a feeling that she should be the boss and thought he'd found the right person.
"I want to make a suggestion. Silvaris Pharmaceuticals is overstaffed and has a lot of freeloaders. To keep the factory running, we need to fire 90% of the executives."noveldrama
Tracy was taken aback. "Which department are you in charge of?"
Judson was somewhat disheartened by the question. He had put forward a suggestion like this in the past, and the person in charge asked him about his role. When they learned that he was merely a worker, he'd be humiliated before getting thrown out.
The moment felt like history repeating itself, so he was a little disappointed. "I'm not running any department. I'm just an average worker."
Tracy gazed at Judson with a newfound respect in her eyes. "As a regular worker, it's great that you want to give me feedback. It's a sign that you truly care about this factory, but your suggestion is way out there.
"That's why I can't possibly go along with that. I appreciate your input, but it's just too impractical. I hope you'll think it over next time before bringing up your ideas."
Upon hearing Tracy's words, Judson was frustrated. "You might sound polite, but you are really all cut from the same cloth as the last group. Even if this factory changes owners, it'll end up shutting down. You aren't going to fire me because I'm quitting right now."
Matthew found Judson's suggestion to be absurd as well. Even though he had never run a factory or worked at a state-owned enterprise, he had experienced running his own business.
With 500 people, he would need to have two directors, two accountants, one logistic coordinator, four people managing production, one person for human resources, and another person for security. In short, there'd be at least ten executives.
Cutting 90% of the executives meant there'd only be one executive left to hold the fort. How was the person supposed to manage everything, especially with day and night shifts to consider?
But realizing that Judson was about to resign, Matthew hurriedly grabbed his arm. "Why are you mad? If we accept your idea, we'll only have one executive.
"After cutting 90% of the staff, we'll be left with the director only. If he gets sick and ends up in a hospital, the factory will be in a mess without a leader. Your suggestion is way too unrealistic."
Judson looked at Matthew with a dumbfounded expression, "How are we going to be left with one director? What kind of nonsense is that?
"Out of the 500 employees in the factory, 200 of them are executives. With 190 of them falling sick, you're still left with ten people."
What do you think?
