Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1691

Her mother's gentle and concerned voice rang in her ears, but at the moment, it was like a mountain with an overwhelming load that pressed on her heart. She sensed a fierce bitterness in her throat as Victoria's eyes turned red-rimmed in an instant. Biting her lip for a long time, she forced the soft words out of her mouth.

"No, Mom, I'm just a little... missing you!"

Sensing the abnormality in her voice, Veronica paused before going on to say.

"Kimmy, have you been wronged? I don't want you to be under pressure. I just want you to live a better life! You should make your own decision since you got married! If you miss home, come to me at any time. Or, I'll go back with your dad in a few days when we're free! With only one baby girl, I regret having come here with the old man. It's better for me to watch over my daughter and play with my

grandchildren! I've told your dad, now that you don't have any children, you should spend some more alone time together. When you have children, we'll go back!"

"Alas, let's consider it to be visiting the world now that we still can manage! All things go back to their source! I didn't think that I would be able to understand the true meaning of these words until I grew older! I have to go back and protect my precious daughter in the future. You're the only treasure in my life that is irreplaceable. What's more important than you?"

Veronica rarely sighed with emotion. Hearing her words, Victoria felt more uncomfortable. As her eyes swept over the paper bag in her hand, waves of emotions surged in her heart. If what was stated on the papers was true, would she no longer be considered the biological daughter of her parents then?

By then, not even would her parents be hers.

No!

Her loved parents, her loved family, her beloved man... Everything would turn into bubbles!

No, it was not true!

It couldn't be true!

She was the only child of her parents. Her mother had told her that she resembled her father!

His mind was a mess, and she couldn't get her thoughts straight for a long time. Closing her eyes, Victoria took a few deep breaths.

"Don't panic. It may not be true! Even if it is true, I've lived with my parents for over 20 years. Our relationship and bond will not change, nor will it be taken away by others. It must be a conspiracy. God will not be so cruel! Don't frighten yourself..." Victoria repeated to herself.

"Kimmy? Victoria! What's wrong? Why don't you talk?"

Her mother's urgent voice pierced her eardrum, pulling her back to her senses. Victoria's eyes jotted open.

"Mom, I suddenly thought of something and was a little absent-minded! Oh, mom, these two days I went to a public event with Amanda and met a doctor in Walmington City. He told me that I was given birth at their hospital, and he remembers my appearance... He commented on me looking like my younger mother. Don't you think it's funny? Now people are coming up with all kinds of excuses to curry favor with us. Casterwich City and Walmington City are hundreds of kilometers apart!"

Initially, she had made the call to inquire about her birth, but she was afraid that it would arouse her mother's suspicion if she talked too much. She deliberately made it up to lure Veronica into the topic. Unexpectedly, Veronica laughed in the next second.

"Haha... This shows that you're indeed beautiful and unforgettable at first glance! In fact, you were indeed born in Walmington City. Back then, our business has just started, and your father went over to meet a customer. I forgot about the name of the well-known nightclub in Walmington City. Anyway, it was famous throughout the area for young beauties. When we didn't know what the famous brands were named, those girls had begun to show off and compare branded goods among themselves. How could I be at ease for your father to visit such a place? As a result, I went after him after knowing about his business trip. After throwing a tantrum, you were anxious to come out, so we selected the nearest hospital in Walmington City. Fortunately, everything went smoothly. When you were born, the business partners came to a mutual business agreement. Your father had laughed and complimented you for being a blessed bundle of joy! Now that we think about it, the business cooperation was of great help to our family. Yet, you don't resemble me, but more like your father instead!"

Remembering the past, Veronica rambled, and Victoria's brain was buzzing, unable to take in a single word Veronica said next. All she could think about was one sentence.

Was she really born in Walmington City Hospital?

She had always thought that their family had never left Casterwich City before they emigrated. As for Walmington City, she had no impression of it at all. With the scope of their family business and how she had never heard of her father going on a business trip to Walmington City, it was obvious that he had never made frequent visits to the city!

Right then, however, hearing those words from her mother's mouth was the same as slapping her in the face which caused her world to spin from dizziness.

Victoria could not remember what Veronica said next or how she hung up the phone. In the car, she rummaged through the brown paper bags several times. Victoria's initial panic was replaced by disbelief and unacceptance.

Could it really be such a coincidence?

After several rounds of scrutinization, however, it seemed that she could indeed not find any flaws! Was Selena absolutely sure, so she had the guts to come to her and provoke her to conduct a DNA test?

Yes, DNA! Speculations would not work!

After putting away the documents, Victoria hurried back to the car. On the way, she was so upset with her mind so chaotic that she did not even notice the phone ringing several times.

When Trevor returned home, he saw her sitting at the head of the bed in a daze, as if she had lost her soul.

With a few big strides forward, he rushed to the bed and slowly squatted down. "Vicky, what's wrong? What happened?"

Although he was speaking right before her eyes, he was shocked to see that Victoria did not respond. When she got up, Trevor shook one hand in front of her eyes and held her hand with the other.

"Vicky?"

What was wrong with her?

As soon as their hands came into

contact, Victoria came to her senses. With a conditioned reflex, she pulled back and moved backward to dodge the outstretched hand. In an instant, her big eyes were filled with horror with her movements almost knocking Trevor to the ground. She was so stunned that her gaze shot back and forth between her and his hand, not being able to come to herself for a long time.

"Vicky, what happened?"

What was going on?

Why did he feel that she seemed to be afraid of being touched? Did she think he was dirty? Recently, he had no intimate contact or action with other women! Seeing her shocked gaze, Trevor frowned without realizing it and reflected on his past actions. He didn't do anything to hurt her!

Trevor had been waiting and making calls all the way back from the hotel. Chasing after her all the way home, Trevor was fuming and anxious. Right then as he noticed her reaction, all his emotions died away.

She asked him out for a meal, yet she didn't even answer her phone, not to mention how abnormal her behavior was upon returning home. Something was wrong, something was not right!

The doubtful words brought out an affirmative tone, plus the sharp and scorching gaze that seemed to penetrate the heart, Victoria woke up with a quiver. Only then did she realize that she had lost her composure. Raising her hand, she ran her fingers through her hair with obvious panic. After a brief while, she spoke. "Sorry, I forgot... I..."

She wanted to find a reason. In an instant, Victoria's mind was blank.

Sitting on the bed and tentatively getting closer to her, Trevor placed his arm around her shoulder and urged, "Victoria, look at me! What's wrong? Did something happen? Did you have a fight with Mom, or did you get upset about what she said?"

Recalling how Amanda had always been satisfied with Victoria, plus for the sake of Veronica, Amanda had always been tolerant of Victoria. He couldn't think of anything else except the occasional urge for her to give birth to a child, but he had explained to Amanda about Victoria's body condition, and

regarding Victoria's injury, Amanda

should understand. Amanda

shouldn't be giving Victoria too

much pressure at the moment!

Not to mention how the two of them were planning to have a baby!

Stroking the back of her head, Trevor spoke in a reassuring tone, "It's all right. Don't take it to heart! With me here, you don't have to worry about anything!"

His words seized Victoria's heart. Coupled with the gentle caressing on her cheeks, Victoria's heart seemed to have been torn open in an instant. She held his big palm to press her soft little face against it, rubbing it hard a few times. Her greedy expression caused her to involuntarily close her eyes.

Trevor narrowed his dark eyes and clearly caught something abnormal, but before he could react, Victoria had opened her beautiful, soul-reaping eyes.

"No, I had a great time with Amanda. She didn't force me into anything." Speaking of that, she could not help but choke, her face instantly turned pale. Before that day, she had dreamt of having a baby with him, but right then...

What should she do?

Could she be pregnant? Should she tell him?

All kinds of thoughts were entangled in her mind for a long time. In the end,

rationality defeated weakness. No. Since it was not confirmed, there was no need

for another person to suffer!

He had endured it once, so why should he be tortured again?

Everything might not be a problem at all!

She couldn't add to his troubles again!

Although she thought so in her

heart, the incident still left a shadow in her mind. If the investigation results and photos in the brown paper bag were true, that she had been transferred to the Atlas Family as a result of accidents in the hospital, and for some unknown reasons, she couldn't return to her

biological family, or perhaps for personal reasons, her biological mother hoped that she could grow

up in a normal family that could provide her with better living conditions, she and Trevor might indeed be cousins!

Cousins were considered to be closely and biologically related, but they...

Why did they have to endure all of that at the moment? If they had known it earlier before meeting each other, or not experienced such a life-or-death trial, or before she had made up her mind to truly give her body and mind to him... perhaps they would not have fallen so deep into the pit, nor would she have to suffer as she did right then, rendered at a loss of mentioning the incident to him.noveldrama

He was indeed considerate towards her! For all sorts of contradictions and possible setbacks in marriage she had once seen, heard, and imagined, he had always stood on her side, not adding any more pressure and disturbances to her.
