Chapter 160
"Yvan!" Josephine exclaimed in shock.
Did he even realize what he was saying?
Yvan let out a low chuckle. "Relax, Josephine. I know exactly what I can and can't say. I just wanted your address so I could check on you. I was worried you'd end up crying alone again, putting on the whole 'the world has wronged and abandoned me' act."
"You seriously need help!" Josephine snapped, furious.
Three years ago, when Yvan showed up in front of her with his girlfriend, she had been devastated.
Back then, in a moment of youthful impulsiveness, she had posted some overly dramatic messages on social media-hoping Yvan would notice and care.
But after a few days of posting, all she had received from him was a single comment:
"What's wrong? You sound like the whole world has wronged and abandoned you. I don't remember ever making you any promises."
That very comment shattered her.
Shortly after, she returned to her home country.
Feeling completely heartbroken, she had accepted her father's proposal for an arranged marriage.
And now, Yvan had the audacity to bring it up like it was some kind of joke?
Did he really think three years were enough to erase the pain?
Some wounds would never heal-especially when real feelings were involved.
Josephine didn't want to hear another word from Yvan again. Without hesitation, she hung up.
But right after the call ended, a message from Yvan popped up.
"Sorry, I got carried away. That joke was out of line. Can you tell me where you're staying?"
She ignored it.
But more messages followed-one after another.
"If you don't want to tell me, fine. I'll find out myself. But if I suddenly show up unannounced, you might get frightened. So, you might as well just tell me now."
"Don't ignore me. I know you. I watched you on the livestream-you don't love Zayn at all. There's no hatred in your eyes. If you truly loved
like you hate me. So, if you keep ignoring me, I'll just keep calling."
him, you'd hate him by now-IL 4
Frustrated, Josephine wanted nothing more than to turn off her phone.
But she couldn't.
The press conference had caused a huge stir. She needed to stay reachable— disappearing wasn't an option.
Thankfully, Joe called just in time, offering her an excuse to shift her focus away from Yvan.
Even so, his call made her nervous.
"Hello, Uncle Joe."
"The moment you started calling me
Uncle Joe, I knew this day would
come. And now, here we are. Givennoveldrama
everything that's happened, I
completely understand why you made this choice."
She had expected Joe to be furious—after all, he was strict and always put
Forbes Group's interests above everything else.
But instead, he said this.
Surprised, she hesitated before responding. "Thank you, Uncle Joe."
"However," Joe continued, "you must realize just how much trouble your reckless
act has caused the Forbes Group."
Josephine genuinely felt guilty about the outcome.
She knew that many had suffered financial losses because of her.
Still, she couldn't sacrifice her happiness just to protect their interests.
"I—"
Joe cut her off, "So, after careful consideration, I've decided-I support your divorce. But as compensation for the damage you've done to the Forbes Group, you need to transfer all your shares to me. For free."
What?
Josephine's eyes widened in disbelief.
After a moment of silence, she finally found her voice.
"You knew I had Forbes Group shares, Uncle Joe?"
What do you think?
