Chapter 666
Chapter 666:noveldrama
Eric gave a cold laugh but said nothing further as he turned and walked toward the house.
Hadley looked back to see his retreating figure, indifferent and distant…
Back in their room, there was no sign of Eric. Hadley surmised he might be in his study.
That was typical.
He always retreated there after their arguments.
Was he expecting her to come apologize?
Who was really to blame tonight?
Dismissing the thought, Hadley went to the closet, grabbed some clothes, took a shower, and then headed to bed.
The following morning…
Eric got up early, stiff from spending the night on the too-short sofa in the study, his neck sore and his body aching. He checked his phone—no calls, no messages.
Hadley hadn’t tried to contact him at all during the night.
Eric set his phone down, wondering what he had hoped for.
Suddenly, he heard footsteps.
Was Hadley awake? Perhaps she was coming to see him?
But no, that wasn’t the case.
Outside the study, the footsteps neared and then diminished. It was barely seven in the morning. Hadley usually didn’t start her day this early with the dance troupe.
Picking up his phone again, Eric made a call. “It’s me…”
After ending the call, he decided to return to the master bedroom to freshen up.

Dressed and ready, he descended the stairs. The housekeeper was already busy in the kitchen.
Upon seeing him, she promptly served breakfast.
“Mr. Flynn, your breakfast is ready.”
Eric nodded, pulling up a chair and beginning his day with a sip of coffee. Just then, his phone rang. He answered curtly, “Hello, go ahead.”
“Mr. Flynn, it’s Hadley… She came to the hospital.”
Eric’s bodyguard, Xander, was on the other end of the line.
From Eric’s silence, Xander could tell he was more than just upset; he was truly angry, a sentiment that was not easily observable.
Lately, Xander had noticed a clear change in the way Eric treated Hadley. Where once it was Hadley who seemed more eager, the dynamics appeared to have shifted in favor of Eric pursuing her.
“Mr. Flynn.” Xander couldn’t help but offer some advice. “It’s clear you’re upset, but try to be gentle with Hadley. Women should be treated with care.”
Eric was known for his short fuse, reacting harshly over minor irritations, regardless of who it was—Hadley or anyone else wouldn’t tolerate such behavior for long.
“Moreover…” Xander paused, choosing his words carefully. “You’re not in a strong position here.”
“How so?”
Eric’s tone was curiously calm, inviting further explanation.
Xander explained, “Think about it. Denver literally took a knife for her. What do women appreciate? They value someone who genuinely cares for them. In situations like these, you can’t afford to be seen unfavorably.”
