The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret

Chapter 490 A Tense Reunion

Frey was pushed forward slowly until she finally stopped on the deck.

Suddenly, the blindfold covering her eyes was pulled off, and the bright sunlight dazzled her, making her squint.

As her vision adjusted, she noticed a speedboat approaching the cruise ship.

Several tall bodyguards carefully helped a man in a wheelchair from the speedboat onto the cruise ship, carrying the wheelchair behind him.

Soon, they placed the wheelchair in front of Frey and helped Michael sit down.

Frey's eyes flashed as she looked at Michael. He had once been a loyal subordinate of Nathaniel's father, Zander, before striking out on his own and becoming quite influential.

He had even tried to marry his adopted daughter, Abigail, to Nathaniel, almost becoming Nathaniel's father-in-law.

However, Abigail's death at Nathaniel's hands irrevocably turned the Hill family and the Morgan family against each other.

"Where's my brother?" Frey asked coldly. She never felt comfortable around this man, not just because he was Abigail's adoptive father.

His sullen and thin face always gave her a bad impression.

Michael leaned back in his wheelchair, looking at Frey with a playful expression that sent shivers down her spine, making her feel like a prey being watched by a predator.

He took a sip of hot tea from a Truenian ceramic cup, stirred the foam with the lid, and laughed softly, "What's the hurry, Ms. Frey? Let's talk about my daughter Abigail first."

"I knew you'd say that," Frey replied, staring at him. "One person acts, and another takes the blame. I set up the trap for her, and she died at Nathaniel's hands. But my brother is innocent. If you let him go, I'll do whatever you want." Michael raised an eyebrow and smiled lightly, "Very good. You have the same temper as your father, Killian. Quite responsible."

"But..." Frey cut in, "I need to see my brother first before we can talk!"

Before she could finish, the tall man holding her shoulders suddenly kicked her knees hard, forcing her to kneel on the deck in pain.

She broke out in a cold sweat. Despite her previous injuries from three years in prison, she gritted her teeth and looked at Michael without any sign of fear.

"I came here atone for my brother. I've shown enough sincerity. I hope you can do the same so we can talk. Whether you want my life or not doesn't matter. Thanks to your daughter, I'm not afraid of death anymore." swnovel

She continued, "Since you brought me here, you might not want to kill me to vent your anger. You must have another intention in mind. We can talk about it."

Michael, leaning back in his wheelchair, was provoked by Frey's attitude and slowly sat up straight. He stared at her, but she met his gaze without flinching.

After a moment, Michael gestured, and a young man was brought out from the cabin.

Frey's heart sank when she realized her brother had been on the same boat all along. If she had known, she might have tried to rescue him earlier.noveldrama

Mason, hooded and bound, was pushed in front of her. He wore a shabby T-shirt and thin brown pants, with injuries visible on his knees and calves.

Frey tried to rush to her brother, but the strong man behind her pinned her down. When Mason's hood was removed, it revealed his bruised and swollen face. "Michael, are you satisfied? Attacking a child?" Frey's anger flared.

Michael's eyes darkened. Though he hadn't caused those injuries, he knew it was unnecessary to explain.

Mason, trembling, had only tried to steal bags and money near the Music Square in Pontenero, never expecting this to happen.

As he looked up, he saw the woman whose bag he had once stolen. His lips

trembled, recognizing her familiar yet strange face.

"Mason! Don't be afraid! I'll take you home!" she promised.

Mason, confused and scared, couldn't remember much of his past.

But seeing this woman claiming to be his sister sparked something in him.

He had felt a strange familiarity when they first met, even as he fled in panic.

Michael, impatient, waved his hand, and Mason was lifted by two strong men and hung over the side of the

ship. Suspended by a tightly tied sailor's knot, he struggled and cried out, "Frey! Save me!"
