The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 608

After a bang, Tessa was knocked out cold. Her vision went dark before she collapsed. Only then did Matthew stop and glance down at Tessa, who was on the

ground.

Upon recovering from fainting, Tessa slowly opened her eyes, her vision still fuzzy. She could vaguely make out someone stood in front of her, and it seemed to be Matthew.

Feeling the burning sensation on her face, Tessa recalled what had happened.

She hit the ground when Matthew slapped her. Holding her face, she started sobbing pitifully. "How can you lay your hand on me, Matthew? You actually hit a woman."

Matthew coldly remarked, "Trying to guilt-trip me won't help. I don't care whether you're a man or a woman. If you mess with me, I'm not going to be nice.

"We're divorced, Tessa. We're basically strangers to each other now. Quit making a fool of yourself."

Being a fool, huh? Tessa bawled her eyes out. "Have you forgotten our past, Matthew? We used to be really happy together. I gave you a child, cooked for you, and bought you clothes. Have you forgotten all that?"

How dare she talk about the past? Matthew's expression changed. "It was you who forgot about all that. You were the one bringing up the divorce."

Tessa cried even louder. "I-I'm sorry."

Matthew indifferently replied, "I'm not sorry."

Matthew came to realize Tessa's true colors and had no feelings left for her. All he wanted was to cut ties with her for good.

After saying that, Matthew turned to Dylan. "You rascal! I went easy on you, and now you're here causing me trouble."

Terrified, Dylan slapped himself on the face. "You don't need to lift a finger, Mr. Grant. I can smack myself. I messed up, and I should've seen it coming. I deserve this."

As Dylan spoke, he kept slapping himself in the face, one after another. Upon seeing this, Matthew disdainfully grunted and turned to walk back to his car.

Sitting on the ground, Tessa had tears welling up in her eyes. "I'm drowning in debt, Matthew. Can't you spare me a little sympathy?"

Matthew pretended he didn't hear anything and opened the car door. Then, he got in and drove off, leaving Tessa behind on the cold, hard ground.

As an average person, Tessa thought Dylan was already a big deal because he was a cultivator. She never expected he'd be on his knees and slap himself when facing Matthew.

Who was Matthew, really? Tessa felt like he was shrouded in mystery and was way above Dylan's league. He had reached such a height that she felt like she could never reach him.noveldrama

Tessa pleaded to reconcile, but Matthew ignored her. Even after she apologized, he still didn't care. She stirred up all kinds of trouble, but it always ended up backfiring on her.

Tessa had thought of every possible way to get involved with Matthew, but nothing worked. What was she supposed to do next?

Having raked up so much debt, she had to pay it off. Just a little from him would

be more than enough for her. But he refused to spare her any dime.

Dylan stood up after Matthew's car drove off. Seeing Tessa was still on the ground, he grumbled, "You almost got me killed, Tessa."

Tessa wiped away her tears. "I-I didn't expect even you would be afraid of Mathew."

Dylan snorted and gritted his teeth. "I could've lost the entire Evans family because of you. I really wish I could just end you. If it weren't for the fact that you're Matthew's ex-wife, I would totally make you pay today."

After saying his piece, Dylan started his car and drove off.

Tessa was taken aback. She was surprised that Dylan went easy on her because she was Matthew's ex-wife.

A wave of regret washed over her. If she hadn't divorced Matthew, the Dylan she had to kiss up to would only deserve to kneel before her. Unfortunately, she had no way to rewrite the past.

Standing up, Tessa felt cold and wandered aimlessly. Memories of what happened lately flashed in her mind when she got into a cab.
