Reclaiming Her Heart

Chapter 1322 I Learned It from You

Betty wore a strappy dress with a small cape draped over her shoulders, giving her the appearance of aristocracy from a bygone era.

When Nathan saw her approach, each step she took seemed to pierce his heart. He had been desperate to see her, but Betty's rejection of him had been absolute.

Publicly, she now had a rumored boyfriend-Darren, the singer. While fans speculated about when they might break up, the couple regularly shared their romantic moments on Twitter.

Nathan had studied the entertainment industry extensively; his assistant had informed him that Betty and Darren were now professionally linked.

"Betty," he breathed, pulling her into his embrace, burying his face against her hair to inhale her scent almost greedily.

Betty never used to wear perfume, but now her signature fragrance was unmistakable. "What perfume are you wearing today?" he asked.

"A custom blend. Do you like it?" she replied.

They hardly resembled a couple who had fallen out.

Betty understood clearly that without offering some affection, he wouldn't help her.

"It's lovely."

"I need a favor," she said directly. "I heard Paul was in trouble. Could you have someone investigate if he's really dead? What exactly happened the night he drove away?"

While others might beg for Nathan's assistance and still be subject to his moods, Betty spoke with calm detachment, sitting in his lap and meeting his eyes with a smile.

She added, "This matters to me."

Nathan tightened his grip around her waist. Her almond-shaped eves held his gaze— the same eyes that used to look at him while she playfully tugged his arm, saying, "Nathan, please?"

But this Betty no longer spoke to him that way. In her eyes now, he was simply a man who could provide convenience, not the Nathan who once shared intimate moments with her in small rooms.

He blinked, his hands trembling slightly as one arm held firmly around her waist.

Betty pressed on, "Mr. White, will you help or not? If not, perhaps you could give me the contact information for your friend from the Perez family. I wonder if he would be interested in me."

"Betty!" he snapped, immediately taking out his phone to make arrangements for her request.

Betty's face instantly softened into a smile. "Thank you, Mr. White."

Nathan released her, his fingers shaking with anger.

Betty stood up, taking out a compact mirror to check her immaculate makeup. She looked like a perfectly crafted doll.

After returning the mirror to her purse, she placed her hands on either side of her dress, slowly beginning to pull it upward.

She spoke up, "Mr. White, I appreciate your attention to this matter."

Nathan's pupils dilated in shock as he grabbed her hands, looking up at her in disbelief.

Her eyes remained calm as she reached to unbuckle his belt. "Don't you want to?" "Betty, what on earth have they taught you in that circle?"noveldrama

"To use any means necessary to achieve my goals. I learned that from you, didn't I?" Silence fell over the private room.

Nathan felt as if his heart had been stabbed. He had no response.

She was right—she had learned from him. Years ago, he had allowed his men to ruin

her hands. After she saved his life, he watched indifferently as she and her family struggled, thinking of them as insignificant insects.

Later, her parents died because of his sister, and Betty herself nearly perished.

Each incident had transformed her, layer by layer.

Nathan's hands trembled as he pulled her dress down, tearing the fabric slightly from the force.

"Cover yourself!" he commanded, his voice hoarse with a mixture of fear and helplessness.
