Willow regained her senses to see Yelena looking at her contemptuously as if she were below her.

This made Willow uncomfortable. She would rather brainstorm ways to escape than fight for Jasper's favor.

However, she couldn't tolerate Yelena's snobbish behavior.

She maintained a smile that never reached her eyes and said, "Aren't you the same? Did Jasper take you to meet his family and admit that you're his girlfriend?"

Yelena's heart sank upon hearing this.

Frank told her before that Jasper brought Willow home as his girlfriend, and that Madam Cindy had urged them to get married.

Frank meant to tell her that Jasper was serious about Willow, so she should be mindful. She had to chase Willow away from Jasper's heart and life before she could obtain him.

How could Willow deserve Jasper's earnest affections when she was a mere janitor? Jasper even brought her home and slept with her in the past!

Yet, Yelena couldn't even get Jasper to look at her despite her being the daughter of the Anderson family.

Yelena was going mad with envy.

Still, she maintained a haughty attitude as she stared Willow down. "Jasper brought tons of women home before. It's not that hard for him to call them his girlfriends. That's all they are as long as they're not Mrs. Hughes. But I'm different. Jasper and I have been engaged since we were children. I'm the future Mrs. Hughes chosen by Master Frank."

Willow's heart fell.

To think that Jasper already had a fiancee chosen by Master Frank.

She now understood why Frank had said she wasn't worthy of Jasper nor had the right to marry into the Hughes family when Jasper brought her home.

It seemed like Frank was already aware that Willow was just another one of the many women Jasper brought home, an amusement before his marriage.

She had been ridiculous enough to assume that Jasper wanted to marry her when he said he would take responsibility. She thought she could give her children a complete family where they could experience fatherly love.

"Ms. Anderson, aren't you just afraid that your position will be

threatened? You wouldn't be saying this to me otherwise." Willow

continued to smile without sincerity.

Yelena's expression darkened. She thought she could humiliate Willow into

stepping down, but the latter wasn't affected at all.

Willow wasn't such a pushover as she had assumed.

"I'm just here to remind you so that you don't make a scene and become clingy after you're dumped!" Yelena scoffed and stood up as she couldn't take it anymore. She shot Willow a glare before leaving the room.

The instant Yelena left, Willow loosened her tense shoulders. Energy seemed to

have left her body and she could now breathe deeper.

She had to find a way to make Jasper dump her soon.

She couldn't afford to play the games aristocrats do.

In the evening when it was time to get off work, Jasper was about to call Willow to get her to wait for him.

His phone rang before he could make the call. It was Frank.

Jasper answered it.

"Jasper, today is the death anniversary of your parents. Your grandmother and I

are waiting for you to visit their graves," Frank said.

A hint of sorrow flashed in Jasper's eyes. "Okay."

It was time to get off work and Willow was about to leave. She wondered if it was

alright for her, as a secretary, to leave first before Jasper did.

However, she was too afraid to check Jasper's room to see if he was gone.

She wouldn't be able to leave if he summoned her.

And so, she stayed in her office a little longer.

When it was half an hour past their off-work time, Willow couldn't wait any longer. She wanted to go home to her adorable children. She missed their chubby cheeks, cute
