Chapter 176 Ambiguous
Sierra had already felt the sharp pain in her back the moment she woke up, the spot where Benson's fist had landed throbbing intensely. It felt as if something heavy had been pressed against it. But when she met the concern in Theo's gaze, she simply shook her head lightly and said, "It doesn't hurt."
"Your left shoulder is dislocated. There's no way it doesn't hurt."
His voice was heavy, and a cold glint flashed through his eyes.
"What? Is it that serious?" Sierra was stunned. She had assumed it was just a bruise and hadn't expected a dislocation.
Then, what about Cayden? He took even more punches...
Her expression changed instantly, and she quickly asked, "Uncle Theo, did my senior come to the hospital? How is he?"
"He's fine. He has some bruises on his face. He blocked most of the hits with his arms, so he'll be fine after a few days of rest."
She let out a relieved sigh. "That's good."
Thankfully, it wasn't anything serious. Otherwise, she would've been drowning in guilt.
"What do you want to do about Benson?"
The deep voice above her carried an icy undertone.
She hesitated for a moment, and a flicker of darkness passed through her eyes. She lowered her gaze and said quietly, "Let the police handle it however they see fit."
Since Benson started fights and caused intentional harm, he had to take responsibility for his actions.noveldrama
"Then, let him sit in a holding cell for a while and reflect on his choices." Theo's tone was laced with chilling finality.
Just then, Madison pushed open the hospital room door and stepped inside. The moment she saw Sierra leaning against Theo, she immediately turned back around.
"Oops. Sorry for interrupting."
"Maddy," Sierra called out, feeling embarrassed as she tried to sit up.
Theo stood and steadied her before placing a pillow behind her back to make her more comfortable.
"Haha, did I come at a bad time?" Madison blinked with a teasing smirk playing on her lips.
"Maddy." Sierra shot her a glare, silently warning her to stop talking nonsense. "Cee, how are you feeling? Does it still hurt?"
"I'm fine. It just feels a bit numb, and I can't lift my arm very high."
Sierra tried to raise her left arm, but the moment she did, pain shot through her shoulder, making her face twist in discomfort.
Madison quickly stopped her and gently lowered her arm down. "Don't move around. Your shoulder is dislocated—it'll take time to heal. You can't do any strenuous or wide movements for now, or you'll make it worse."
A trace of worry crossed Sierra's face. "But the Marisol Cup finals are in ten days."
She couldn't possibly sit stiffly at the piano without moving.
Madison felt a pang of sympathy and softly comforted her, "Cee, your health comes first. Maybe we should sit this one out and explain the situation to Ms. Linden. I'm sure she'll understand."
"No." Sierra refused without hesitation. "I've already let Ms. Linden down once. I can't do it again. I have to compete in the finals."
"But even if you do, what if the pain gets too intense? Will you really be able to play your best?"
Sierra pressed her lips together, her voice unwavering. "No matter what, I have to try."
Seeing that Sierra wouldn't change her mind, Madison turned to the man standing nearby. "Mr. Gray, aren't you going to talk some sense into her?"
Theo's dark eyes rested on the woman lying in bed. After a moment, his thin lips parted.
"You can compete, but don't push yourself too hard. If you want to keep playing piano in the future, don't overexert yourself. I'll make sure you have the best doctors for your recovery."
What do you think?
